Associate Degree Transfers | Arts, Sciences & Education
Associate Degree Transfer Options
UA Cossatot may award transfer credit for coursework completed at institutions accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, provided certain requirements are met. Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions must be submitted before a transcript evaluation can be completed. Transfer credit evaluations are conducted for degree-seeking students; transitory and undeclared students are not eligible for evaluation. To be considered for transfer, a course must have been completed with a grade of C or higher.
For additional information, please refer to College Policy/Procedure 514.
The Arkansas Course Transfer System helps students determine how courses transfer among Arkansas public colleges and universities. Through ACTS, students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and equitable treatment in the application of those credits toward admission and degree requirements.
Career Opportunities for Transfer Degrees
Associate degrees designed for transfer are intended to prepare students for continued
study at a four-year college or university rather than direct entry into a specific
career field. While these degrees do not provide specialized occupational training,
earning an associate degree can enhance employability and may qualify graduates for
positions that require or prefer an associate-level credential. Students are encouraged
to work with an academic advisor to select courses that align with their intended
bachelor's degree and career goals.
General Education
The following associate degree programs are designed to satisfy the general education and core course requirements for many bachelor's degree programs at four-year colleges and universities. Students are responsible for consulting with an academic advisor at their intended transfer institution to verify that UA Cossatot courses will apply toward their specific degree requirements.
Explore the Arts, Sciences, General Studies, and Education transfer pathways below to learn more about each degree program, potential career opportunities, and transfer options available to UA Cossatot students.

The Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board has established a statewide articulation agreement to facilitate the transfer of credits between institutions. The program may be structured to closely resemble an Associate of Arts degree for maximum transferability, tailored to support a business or technical career focus, or customized to meet a student's individual educational objectives.
While most of the 29 credit hours of general education coursework are expected to transfer to four-year institutions, the transferability of the 31 elective credit hours depends on the requirements of the receiving institution. Students are encouraged to work closely with both UA Cossatot and their intended transfer institution when selecting elective courses. The ADHE Transfer Database may also be used to verify the transferability of courses to Arkansas colleges and universities.
The Associate of General Studies is often an excellent choice for students planning to transfer to out-of-state colleges or universities, as the program's flexible elective structure allows students to select courses that best align with the requirements of their intended transfer institution.
