Conway, AR – The UA Cossatot Colts traveled to Conway yesterday for an intense match against the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) Bears' second team. The game showcased an exciting battle between the two squads, with the Colts ultimately securing a 4-2 victory.

The first half set the stage for a fast-paced contest, with UCA pressing early and bringing a high-tempo offense. In the 30th minute, the Bears capitalized on a penalty, scoring the first goal of the match. Just ten minutes later, Colts’ Kerry Najera responded with a penalty of his own, leveling the score at 1-1 just before halftime.

Head Coach Justin Hinman made crucial adjustments at the break, which proved vital for the second half. The opening 10 minutes of the half saw fierce competition, with both teams exchanging pressure. However, in the 60th minute, UCA managed to breach the Colts' defense and took a 2-1 lead.

The Colts remained relentless. In the 70th minute, Steven Aguirre was fouled inside the box after a determined drive down the line. He calmly scored the resulting penalty, bringing the game to 2-2. Momentum shifted quickly, and within a minute, the Colts launched a counterattack. Mark Garcia took a well-placed shot from 25 yards out, giving the Colts a 3-2 lead.

Despite continued pressure from UCA, the Colts’ defense held firm. With just five minutes left, Kerry Najera struck again, scoring his second goal of the match off a perfect pass from Garcia, sealing the 4-2 road win for the Colts.
