North Arkansas swept a pair of conference games against UA Cossatot in Harrison on Thursday, February 10.

In the women's contest, North Ark got off to a fast start and led by as many as 33 points in the first half, on the way to a 92-79 victory. The Lady Colts closed the gap to 10 points in the fourth quarter but could not overtake the #9 ranked Lady Pioneers. Kayla Fuller led 5 UAC players in double figures with 25. Khuyler Hardy and Amari Morrison each had 12, Mikayla Scott added 11, while Ashley Starks finished with 10.

Meanwhile, the Colts men's team dropped a 94-78 decision to the Pioneers. The Colts led by as many as 8 points early but trailed 42-36 at the half. The loss knocked the Colts out of a first-place tie for the conference lead. Malik Nash and Kamren Woods paced UAC with 17 each. Terry Anderson had 16 before fouling out of the contest with three and a half minutes remaining and the Colts down by 7. Dalon Dean, who finished with 11 points, hit a pair of threes to trim the lead to one, but the Colts were unable to catch the Pioneers.

Athletic Director and Head Coach Robert Byrd said, “Tough night for our teams, but there's no time to hang our heads. Time to prepare for Saturday.”

The next time out for UAC will be this Saturday, February 12, when they host SAU-Tech at the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Historic Gym. The De Queen High School Pep Band will perform, and someone will win a 50" big screen TV in UAC’s  Food Pantry Sweepstakes. The women's game will tip-off at 2 pm, the men at 4 pm.
