The latest graduation rates calculated for all the two-year schools in Arkansas show
UA Cossatot has the third highest.
UA Cossatot has now obtained one of the highest graduation rates in many years; the
37% rate trails only two colleges- ASU-Mt. Home and SAU-Tech. This rate is calculated
using data compiled by the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System or IPEDS.
First-time entering students have a 150% time frame to complete the desired degree
and the graduation rate is calculated using this information. While enrollment numbers
indicate a student’s desire to earn a higher education, the graduation rate is measured
to gauge student success.
“To raise graduation and retention rates,” said Ashley Aylett, UA Cossatot’s Vice
Chancellor of Academics. “You have to have many pieces of the puzzle in place and
working together smoothly. Our 37% rate is testament to what we are doing for the
student from recruitment to graduation.”
Student success at UA Cossatot can also be attributed to increased opportunities for
student engagement and updated facilities.
“We have stepped up our game with a more hands-on advising process, more innovation
in the classrooms, as well as updating and refreshing our amenities such as our campus
buildings, café’s, learning spaces, and technology for the students to use, said Dr.
Steve Cole, Chancellor of UA Cossatot. “While 37% is a very high number, we will
keep striving for 100%. We may not make it, but it will not be because we didn’t try.”
