UA Cossatot split a pair of games against North Arkansas College on Tuesday, March 30 at the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Historic Gymnasium.

The Lady Colts fell to North Arkansas Community College 66-59 in the regular-season finale.

UA Cossatot battled back from a 16 point deficit, closing the gap to one before the Lady Pioneers put the game away late. A'Nayzia Jefferson led the Lady Colts with 17 points, while Jasmine Ellison and Kyaira Jackson each had 10.

In the men’s contest, the Colts downed North Arkansas 89-82. Kamren Woods scored 24 points as the Colts defeated North Arkansas for the second time this season. The Colts fell behind by 12 points early in the game but trailed by only one point at the half 41-40. Dillon Cheater and Woods teamed up to hit seven second-half three-pointers as the Colts ran their season record to 10-6, 8-1 at home. Cheater finished with 20 points, while Cameron Maxwell and Terry Anderson each had 17.

Head Coach and Athletic Director, Robert Byrd said, “Coming off of Spring Break, I felt like our teams started off pretty slow. We eventually settled in and competed like we will need to head into Friday and Saturday Region II tournament first-round games.” 

The Lady Colts will open up the NJCAA Division II Region 2 Tournament Friday, April 2 at National Park College at 6:00 pm. With the men’s win, the Colts earned the #3 seed in the conference tournament and will host South Arkansas Community College in the opening round Saturday, April 3 at 2 pm at the De Queen High School Coliseum.
