The UA Cossatot Colts and Lady Colts won against National Park Community College on Saturday, March 6 at the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Historic Gymnasium.
The Lady Colts defeated National Park Community College 66-59 for their second straight win. A'Nayzia Jefferson hit a three-pointer to start the game, her first of four on the afternoon as she led UA Cossatot with 26 points. Mikayla Scott added 11 for the Lady Colts.
In the men's contest, the Colts got their first-ever victory over National Park Community College 83-67. The Colts led by as many as 22 points and survived a late Nighthawk rally, which whittled the margin to 4 late in the game. Terry Anderson led UA Cossatot with 23 points, Micah Yarber had 18, Dillon Cheater hit 5 three-pointers and finished with 17 points, while Kamren Woods added 11. The Colts got another solid performance from Devin Howlin who came off the bench to hit a trio of three-pointers.
UA Cossatot Athletic Director and Head Coach, Robert Byrd said, “I was very happy the Colts and Lady Colts were able to get their first conference wins. Both teams came out with great intensity, battled through a lot of adversity, and found a way to win the game.”
UA Cossatot will hit the road to Harrison on Thursday, March 11 for a pair of conference matchups at North Arkansas Community College. Games can be watched and listened to live all season long on ed88radio.com.
