The 2020 UA Cossatot Transfer Fair took place on Monday, February 17, at UA Cossatot’s De Queen and Nashville Campus. Thirteen four year universities visited the college to meet with students to discuss transfer options.
The UA Cossatot Transfer Fair gives students who have chosen to go to school at UA Cossatot the chance to meet with university representatives to learn about how they can continue their education after obtaining an associate’s degree.
Arkansas Tech University Assistant Director for Transfer Recruitment, Sabrina Billey, said, “I am excited to be at the UA Cossatot Transfer Fair. Arkansas Tech University has several educational opportunities for transfer students. There are five transfer scholarships available that community college students can apply for and use at Arkansas Tech University that range from $3,000 to $9,000.”
Billey added, “We also have a Tech Transfer Tracker where transfer students can view degree agreements online between UA Cossatot and Arkansas Tech. On the Tracker, students can also view how many of their credits will transfer.”
The representative from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville also provided information to students. She informed them that this past year the University of Arkansas announced that they would honor UA Cossatot’s tuition rate by offering the Arkansas Transfer Achievement Scholarship.
Anyone who graduates from UA Cossatot with a transferable degree to the University of Arkansas, which would be an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree, can pay the same tuition rate at Fayetteville that they spent at UA Cossatot.
The University of Arkansas’s tuition rate per hour is $246.12. UA Cossatot’s in-district tuition rate per hour is $72. This scholarship is available for those who qualify and will allow UA Cossatot students the opportunity to continue to pay UA Cossatot’s tuition rate of $72 at Fayetteville.
UA Cossatot students wishing to learn more about transfer agreements and options at other four year universities can contact UA Cossatot Student Services Advisor, Jocelin Galvez, at 870-584-1163.
